We have one store in KwaZulu Natal, with professional, friendly staff.

In 1972, Craig Stevens, followed his passion for photography and his entrepreneurial instinct, and opened a photo shop inside his father’s pharmacy in Newcastle. Craig was at school at the time, and so the hours of operation for his new business had to be limited to 3pm to 5pm on Fridays, and on weekends and school holidays. Craig‘s business boomed.

When Craig finished school, he qualified as a Pharmacist, following in his father’s footsteps, and eventually bought Broadway Pharmacy in Durban North from his father in 1985. After extensive research into the market, Craig took his next step in the photographic industry and installed a mini-lab at the pharmacy. The business was well supported and it became time to establish a separate, fully fledged Photographic Retailer. So in 1994, Photo Freedom was born. There is currently one branch in KwaZulu Natal situated in Durban North.

Craig keeps the business up to date by attending Photographic conferences and trade shows all over the world, ensuring that Photo Freedom has the newest products, and can offer the latest trends to our customers. Photo Freedom is a member of the world wide Photo Marketing Association International and Digital Imaging Marketing Association abiding by the international stands these of organizations.

Photo Freedom offers the latest technology from Canon, Nikon, Tamron, Sony, Sigma, Bushnell, Godox, Lexar, Panasonic, Fujifilm and Tasco. We also stock a variety of must-have accessories from Lowepro, Manfrotto, Kenko, Energizer, Sandisk, Hahnel, Henzo, Albums & Frames. We do high quality photographic prints from our digital lab, as well as wide format prints up to A0 size, or panorama prints up to 59cm wide. Our stores offer a variety of copy shop services including lamination (up to 90cm wide), Digital copies (black & white and colour), book binding and E-Mail services.
