24.2MP Full-Frame Sensor and DIGIC X Processing
The Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Camera Body produced high-resolution imagery with rich and accurate colours by pairing the powerfull full-frame 24.2MP CMOS sensor as well as the DIGIC X image processor. These enable the Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Camera Body to operate in a wide variety of lighting conditions, with a flexible ISO 100-102400 range that can be expanded to ISO 204800.
Using the full width of the sensor, 6K oversampled UHD 4K 60p video recording is supported as is Full HD 1080 180p for slow motion playback. Features 4:2:2 10-bit shooting with up to 2 hours of recording at 29.97 fps.
The DIGIC X processor supports 40 fps and continues shooting in burst as well as pre-shooting support, this allows for the camera to start recording images 0.5s prior to the release button is pressed.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II
The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system offers exceptionally fast and accurate focusing performance. Featuring 1053 auto AF points covering the entire sensor area.
The AF system offers enhanced subject detection. It offers the ability to recognize people, animals and vehicles and lock onto these subjects while maintaining focus throughout burst as well as video captures.
HDR PQ and Canon Log 3
The Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Camera Body offers a choice of two video recording options, HDR PQ or Canon Log 3 video recording.
In HDR PQ recording, a 10-bit colour file is recorded which does not require any post-editing. HDR recordings are then compatible with HDR displays such as TVs, monitors and smartphones. Canon Log 3 is perfect for the content creator seeking the ability to edit video files. This creates a 10-bit log file which allows for powerful recovery of shadows and highlights as well as offering creative colour grading capabilities.
Vertical Movie Mode and Aspect Markers
With Vertical Movie Mode you are able to set movie rotation information during, or after recording, herby you are enabled to video in vertical composition then viewing on a smartphone.
Aspect Markers allow you to set different aspect ratios when posting the same content to different social media platforms.
Movie Digital IS
The Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Camera Body features Movie Digital IS, which enables the recording of videos with minimum equipment needed, offering 5-axis image stabilisation.
2.36m-Dot EVF and Vari-Angle Touchscreen LCD

Flexible Connectivity
